Laura and Alex knew that they wanted something simple, short and sweet. They knew they wanted to include their dog, Ambrose, and they knew that they wanted their wedding to feel vintage. They knew what they wanted in the best way. Laura, who is also a photographer, settled on The Graduate Hotel in the University District, a vintage hotel with so much character. They started their festivities with pie in their room, followed by a few sweet shots with their pup, and then we were off to explore the hotel and head to the Seattle courthouse!
It was a miraculously sunny day for a Seattle February, meaning they would not only be able to get photos outside, but they’d be able to have their ceremony on the Courthouse rooftop! The Seattle Municipal Court is really special in that it has a beautiful and fairly modern rooftop deck that they perform ceremonies on. It was a perfect day, with the sun setting offering up warm soft light, and the day ended up being magic.
I loved working with these two, it was fun to share such a love for simplicity and to be able to incorporate film in a way that brought Laura’s love for vintage and black and white photography to life!
