SEATTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER — backyard wedding
This eclectic backyard wedding in Bellingham, Washington as a dream of modern bohemian vibes. The day came to life with the company of their dearest family and friends.
Taylor and Nick’s Eclectic Backyard Wedding in Bellingham was nothing short of a fairytale! about the couple… lovely inside and out. the kind of people you instantly want to be friends with. they are somehow so accomplished and beautiful yet so approachable and relatable. I just love them, really truly.
Taylor and nick’s eclectic wedding took place on their family property in Bellingham, Washington (now their home!), which they transformed with the help of family and friends into their dream wedding venue. They had a beautiful ceremony site set up out in the middle of the fields, that truly looked like it dropped out of the sky. With the help of Wander Event Rentals they collected an assortment of antique chairs and benches giving an eclectic and vintage charm to the day. The alter was unbelievably designed and installed by Free Range Flowers, creating the perfect natural frame for Taylor and Nick to get married under.
Before the day kicked off, we took off with Nick, Taylor, and their sweet pup into the fields around the property to get photos of them without anyone else around. We wanted to capture their photos in a way that brought together the mix of modern, sophisticated, rustic, and eclectic that was present that day. With a mix of digital and polaroid film to capture the modern and vintage styles, our time with them felt effortless and familiar.
After an emotional first look with Taylors dad, it was time for the ceremony to start!
While Nick was escorted down the aisle by his mother, the rest of the bridal party and Taylor walked themselves down the aisle. I was so in love with this concept, it was perfectly strong, independent, and non-traditional, and fit the mood of the day perfectly. Their ceremony was full of beautiful moments, tears, laughter, and joy.
Perhaps my favorite moment of the day, which would be hard to pick, was when the ceremony was ending and the reception was beginning and all of the guests teamed together to bring all the mismatched seats to the farm tables for diner. One guest called it “the great chair migration of 2019” which was very appropriate. From then on the reception was off. The little space behind the old barn was brought to life with candles, string lights, laughter, tacos, music, and drinks. It could easily be compared to a very hip version of a Lord of the Rings celebration : ). The toasts brought laughter and tears, just like every other part of the day, and our time with these two ended with their first dances under the moonlight.
With the help of their closest family and friends, every detail and moment of this day was thoughtful, unique, and the perfect blend of elegant and familiar. Hopefully these photos help relay this experience!
