Rainy Waterfall Elopement // Stacy + Nicole
i met Stacy + Nicole for the first time on their wedding day. We met at the lodge where they were staying and drove down to the base of Snoqualmie Falls, in North Bend, WA, just east of Seattle. Under her beautiful dress, Nicole rocked some hiking shoes and they both made the hike without breaking a sweat or breaking a smile.
We made it all the way to the base of the falls, and took some time to take it in, and OF COURSE....within 2 minutes of when I took my camera out it was a terrential downpour. I mean terrential. They stood under their umbrellas and I just tried to keep my camera dry, at the expense of my hair, shoes, and dress : ). I didn't want to put it away because I knew that we might only have 5 minutes to shoot if there was a break at all, and I didn't want to miss it. Sure enough, we had 5 - 8 minutes when the rain stopped, and let me tell you.. it was WORTH IT. I am so amazed with their grace in that awful weather and their willingness to wait it out for the clouds to break.
Their intimate ceremony immediately followed, and was complete with only 7 of their closest relatives in attendance. The sound of the falls masked their voices, so while I could see and feel their emotion, their vows were kept between the two of them. Which I love!
This wedding was simple, planned quickly, and without fuss, yet it was easily one of the most beautiful and most rewarding to capture.
I am so so grateful to have been a prat of this day.
Special thank you to Salish Lodge + Spa and Country Side Floral and of course the amazing Mr. + Mrs. Robinson and their lovely family who made this day so special.
